• Verify suspicious contact independently through the ATO app or my.gov.au instead of trusting the message.
• Use ATO Online services and the ATO app to learn about superannuation, track contributions, and manage tax withholding.
• Locate refund status, account balances and security messages in official ATO channels.
• Describe what to do if an account is compromised, including locking an ATO record and who to phone.
